Who am I? I'm Marta! I like guacamole and naps. Besides sleeping I am a Journalism student at Carlos III University of Madrid and news editor of this project.
Between naps I keep an eye on the news to make sure that the content published is of quality and properly written.
When I was a child I used to see Madrid’s “Pirulí” and, while pointing at it from the car window, I would tell my parents that I wanted to work there. What a mess of a child, always giving a hard time. And years later, here I am! Just like the little girl who looked at the world from the car window. Past little me loved reading stories to her classmates, and still today that is my passion: to tell stories, to talk to people, to fill the hearts and heads of those around me with scenarios that make them imagine other horizons.
My view on online journalism is simple, personally I am a paper lover, I find it pleasurable. However, leaving behind this romanticisation of paper, online journalism is extremely practical, useful and fast. The Internet is, without a doubt, the place where journalism should be, a place of progress and evolution to which we must adapt. It is, quite simply, adjust or die and journalism is many things but never dead.
